Arrogant Senator Boxer

Posted by admin on Jun-18-2009

So…. when you work really hard for a ‘title’ you have the right to make all the little people salute you with that title whether other alternatives are truthful or appropriate according to ettiquete? Just the fact that you ‘worked really hard’ for it entitles you? That’s what’s wrong with our nation!!

In a briefing on Capitol Hill Tuesday, SENATOR Boxer stopped Brig. Gen. Michael Walsh, with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, who was testifying before her comittee and demanded that he call her, ‘SENATOR.’ In her own words,

“It’s just a thing, I worked so hard to get that title, so I’d appreciate it, yes, thank you,”

It’s just a thing? Oh, she worked so hard for the TITLE? Wait a minute, can someone google SENATOR Boxer’s campaigns in California and find the campaign speech where she made the pledge, “If you crown me with the title of SENATOR, I will make everyone use it on me no matter who they are or where I am! That’s my solemn vow to the people of California!” (wild applause)

Wow, where to start?

The General didn’t mind that she didn’t call him BRIGADIER General Walsh, did he? Did other senators on the panel object to being addressed as ’sir?’ Is not Ma’am a title of respect? Or is SENATOR Boxer too good for that? She has risen above the level of Ma’am? That’s it, she worked so hard to get that title that she now hovers above all of us ‘little people’ and demands we speak in a manner which pleases her.

Maybe the good SENATOR should read up a little on military protocol, she might find that the General was showing her deference and respect, the same respect he would give to a superior officer or the President! To be forced to say, SENATOR every time you are addressing someone is tedious. That’s almost as bad as forbidding the use of pronouns in literature. It’s almost as bad as when Bob Dole kept referring to himself in the third person during the 1996 Presidential race.

But more than all of that, it shows the arrogance that this woman operates in. Her insecurities are so great that she cannot handle a simple reference of respect, no, she needs the General to acknowledge the greatness of her position, AND she needs to hear it! How jacked-up is that? To need to hear others repeat your title?

Well, she did work hard for it. Maybe if it had been handed to her on a silver platter and she really didn’t have to work for it, she could handle the ‘Ma’am,’ but her reasoning is that it’s a ‘thing’ and there was lot’s of ‘work’ involved. Gen. Walsh probably hasn’t worked that hard for his position, so she obviously had to explain it to him, you know, about how hard work makes titles necessary. The General didn’t get it, see, so she had to correct him on the record in front of a senate comittee.

Well, I vote the good people of California to ‘worke really hard’ to strip the SENATOR of her title and demote her back to ‘Ma’am.’ It’s the best possible thing for our country, we don’t have time for insufferable fools who only want to BE somebody improtant. We need people who are more interested in serving the needs of the people and their future and are less interested in hearing their own title repeated ad nauseum.

I’m just sayin………..
